Welcome—I’m Glad You’re Here
I’m Katherine, and my passion is providing compassionate, practical support to help you reconnect with your inner strength and wisdom. Therapy isn’t about fixing you—it’s about empowering you to reclaim your wholeness and resilience.
My Personal Journey
Yes, I am a therapist, but I’m a real person, too. Life hasn’t always been easy. I’ve navigated challenges alone, which taught me how difficult it is to grow without support. Those experiences deeply shaped my path to becoming a therapist—committed to ensuring that the individuals and couples I work with never have to feel alone in their healing process.
My Approach & Expertise
You’re the hero of your story. My role is to guide you with warmth, gentle humor, and compassionate honesty. Together, we’ll explore how your nervous system, relationships, and past experiences shape your current patterns while discovering healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges.
My neuroscience-informed approach integrates Somatic Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, Gottman Method, PACT, Interpersonal Neuroscience, and mindfulness practices. This ensures that therapy is uniquely tailored to you, your history, struggles, and aspirations. I work eclectically because I don’t believe that people are one-size-fits-all. I keep my skills and knowledge sharp to ensure that we’ll have cutting-edge tools to work together. I believe in working collaboratively with you because while I am an expert in many things, you are the expert concerning you–even if you don’t know it yet. My goal is to make therapy approachable, insightful, and even fun at times.
I’m nearing completion of my doctorate in Psychology, building on my education—a Master’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Business, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I’m also an author and speaker, continually deepening my expertise to serve you better.
Inclusion & Diversity
As a biracial woman who’s experienced many cultures, I deeply appreciate the richness our differences bring. However, I believe our similarities connect us far more profoundly. My practice warmly welcomes everyone—regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, race, age, or disability—and I honor each client’s unique context and experiences.
Beyond the Office
Outside practicing therapy in Pleasant Hill and online, you’ll find me cooking, hiking, creating courses and tools, or geeking out about neuroscience. My greatest joy is spending time with my significant other, Sam, my two grown children, Michi and Kristina, and my step-kids, Barrett and Jaxon. Being a mom is the greatest accomplishment of my life, closely followed by sharing over a decade with my partner, Sam.
